to the Lighthouse

The Lighthouse is where the archive says what the photographs add up to. Most of it was written in-house. Album 011 came in through this form, from somebody who had been watching the walls around Jantar Mantar — which is exactly what we hoped for.

The full guidance is in the submission guidelines. The short version: 800 to 1,600 words, written from photographs that are already in the archive, with dates and numbers you can point to. Your own writing, in your own voice — not a chatbot's.

First-hand accounts are especially welcome. You were at the march. You made the placard. You sat the exam. That is a thing no amount of research substitutes for.

A curator reads everything that arrives. Expect a first reply within about a week — and if we go quiet for longer, write again, because that means something broke at our end.

Aim for 800–1,600 words.
