A medical entrance examination sat by lakhs of candidates on 3 May 2026 was cancelled nine days later, after roughly 120 of its 180 questions were found to have circulated beforehand. What followed ran for most of two months, in most of the large cities, and ended with the education minister's resignation on 25 July.
